Special Collections in the Children’s Room
PARENTING COLLECTION
This collection contains books for families and caregivers of children and tweens about parenting issues such as sleep, physical and emotional health, siblings, and more. It also has books including picture books on these subjects appropriate for children.
LEARNING COLLECTION INCLUDING THE SEPTO DONATIONS
This collection contains books on subjects such as learning disabilities, autism, Aspergers, sensory issues, education law, and more. Many of these books were given to the library by the North Salem schools Special Education Parent Teacher Organization.
HALLORAN COLLECTION
These books about 9-11 were given to the library in honor of Vincent Halloran, a North Salem resident and NYC firefighter who lost his life in the September 11th terrorist attack. They were given by the Vincent Gerard Halloran Fund for Children.
SPANISH LANGUAGE BOOKS
The library has books in Spanish for children and tweens.

In addition to books, the library has a wide variety of toys for imaginative play, socialization, and fine motor skill development. They include puzzles, toys, Lego, puppets, a kitchen, and a giant dollhouse. Next time you come in with children, why not “stay and play.”
