Silent Movies with Ben Model – Silent Film Accompanist and Historian
Laugh at the slapstick antics of Chaplin, Keaton, and more when silent movie historian BEN MODEL presents a program of comedy shorts — online, live-streamed to you from his apartment in NYC. Model is one of the nation’s leading silent film accompanists and performs regularly (except during the pandemic) at the Museum of Modern Art, the Cinema Arts Center, and the Library of Congress Packard Campus Theater. He has performed at theaters, museums, schools, libraries, and other venues in the US and internationally…and brought his program to the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library in 2018.
Ben will show a few short films and talk about silent movies and their scores. This is a fun program for families.
