After the library’s annual meeting, Dr. Eugene Boesch, an award-winning local archaeologist, will present a program, Who Was Here First and Where Did They Go?

About Dr. Eugene Boesch: as an undergrad at New York University, Dr. Boesch discovered that the ground under his feet held the clues to the fascinating stories of people who came before us, revealing their day-to-day lives through artifacts and human remains. Specializing in pre-contact Native American history along with colonial and early American life in the Hudson Valley, Dr. Boesch lives in Mahopac and serves on the Westchester County Historic Preservation Advisory Commission. Since 2006, he’s spent much of his working life at the Jay Heritage Center at the Jay Estate in Rye, where some recent discoveries earned him the 2022 New York State Historic Preservation Award. In addition, he has conducted research and digs around the world and here in North Salem and has taught at NYU, Vassar, Rutgers, and many other colleges and universities. Co-sponsored by the North Salem Historical Society

This program is free, open to all, and requires no registration.
