Author Talk, Gayle Tzemach Lemmon will talk about her book, The Daughters of Kobani: A Story of Rebellion, Courage and Justice

Gayle Tzemach Lemmon is the author of NYT bestsellers. Ashley’s War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield is made into a major motion picture at Universal.
The Daughters of Kobani is the story of what ISIS has left in its wake: the most far-reaching experiment in women’s equality in the least likely place in the world brought to you by women who battled ISIS town by town, street by street since 2013. These women served with America’s ground forces in the struggle to defeat the Islamic State.
Gayle Tzemach Lemmon is an adjunct senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. She has held leadership roles in emerging technology and national security firms. For a decade, she covered politics for ABC News. She is a frequent speaker on national security topics and appeared regularly on MSNBC, CNN, PBS, and NPR. Her written work has appeared in major periodicals.
This author’s talk will double as the July meeting of the History & Biography Book Group.
