Program Details

  • Date/Time: Thursday, May 27th, 2021 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Categories: , ,

In anticipation of the solar eclipse on June 10, a Zoom presentation by Joe Rao, former Channel 12 Weatherman and astronomer, will examine the mechanics of what causes eclipses as well as a look at events coming our way in the future.  Early risers on June 10 will be treated to an unusual sunrise, weather conditions permitting.  They will not see a yellow-orange circle of light but an 80% solar eclipse which will transform the sun into a fiery scimitar.  Also, Joe will discuss the total eclipse visible from upstate New York and New England in 2024.  You won’t want to miss this fascinating presentation chock full of amazing information.

This program is co-sponsored with the Pound Ridge and Lewisboro libraries.
