For the last four years the library has held a STEAMFest on a Saturday in  November before Thanksgiving. The STEAMFest is a day, from 11:00 -3:00, of free activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics for children in grades kindergarten and up and their families. Jaymes Dec, teacher at Marymount and co-founder at The MakeryNYC,  and his crew set up ten stations including soldering, rockets, a wind tunnel, makey makey, origamiBots and more. Each year there have been more than100 children plus their families in attendance.

Since 2013 the event has been paid for by a grant from the Caples Fund and generous donations by members of the Library Visiting Committee.

And a lot of fun was had by all!
