Friends of the Library
The mission of the Friends is to serve the people who reside, work or attend school in North Salem through service to the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library. Their service takes the form of volunteering at the library, raising funds for selected programs and materials, and working in consultation with the library director and trustees. They receive and encourage gifts, endowments, and bequests to the library. The Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization without any political or religious affiliation.
The Friends of the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization working to further the educational and cultural needs of our community through its support of the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library. The mission of the Friends is to help enrich library services in collaboration with the library director and trustees. These include technology, literary, culinary, visual, and performing arts.
The Friends of the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library provides educational programs, activities, and resources for children, teens, and adults. In recent years, the Friends have organized two events for the whole family: International Nibble & Nosh in March and Family Fun Day in July with a giant water slide. The Friends also sponsored three special effects workshops for teens, hosted a Holiday Bazaar with all teen crafters, and co-sponsored library programs.
All of the Friends programs were funded through our annual membership dues, various fundraiser proceeds, and a generous grant awarded from M&T Bank.
