The Daughters of Khobani: A Story of Rebellion, Courage, and Justice

Gayle Tzemach Lemmon is the author of NYT bestsellers. Ashley’s War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield is made into a major motion picture at Universal. The Daughters of Kobani is the story of women who battled ISIS town by town, street by street since 2013. These women served with  America’s ground forces in the struggle to defeat the Islamic State. 
Gayle Tzemach Lemmon is an adjunct senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. She has held leadership roles in emerging technology and national security firms. For a decade, she covered politics for ABC News. She is a frequent speaker on national security topics and appeared regularly on MSNBC, CNN, PBS, and NPR. Her written work has appeared in major periodicals. 

The History & Biography Book Group will read this as the July selection, and the author talk will serve as the July meeting. The program, however, is open to anyone, and it is not necessary to be part of the book group to attend or to check out the book.

Join us Thursday, June 10th at 4:00 pm in the library’s backyard to make a Father’s Day craft or a craft to celebrate Pride Month. No registration is required.


Some bits on our re-opening
The Children’s Room will be open for 1/2 hour appointments. Please call or email the library. If no one is in the room when you drop by, you can use the space. The Main Library is open for browsing, reading, and computers. 
Not everyone is vaccinated, and we don’t want to ask, So, if you would kindly, please keep on your mask when in the library.
The conference room will be open for appointments for quiet work or study.
