The mission of the Friends is to serve the people who reside, work or attend school in North Salem through service to the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library. Their service takes the form of volunteering at the library, raising funds for selected programs and materials, and working in consultation with the library director and trustees. They receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the library. The Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization without any political or religious affiliation. Over the past few years the Friends have generously provided the library with computers, refreshments for library programs, and children's entertainers. They also have sponsored other events including: A pop, classical and jazz performance by The Highpoint Players The Friends volunteer at the library and put in many hours helping at the annual spring Book, Bake and Plant Sale/Library Fair. They meet monthly and their meetings are open to the public. The current officers of the Friends are: Bea Kruchkow Treasurer - Casey Hessler
Membership in the Friends costs $20.00 for an individual or family. Please make checks payable to: Please include your name, address, email, phone number and information about matching funds. The Friends welcome new members.
Friends of the Library receive grant from M&T Bank.Carol Jendras, (V.P. Area Sales Manager), Craig Buckhout (Relationship Banker) and Peter Sesitito (Branch Manager) of M&T Bank present Pat Malanchuk and Bea Kruckhow (President and Treasurer of the Friends) a check for $1200 to help fund music programs at the library.
